The Basics of Dabbing Concentrates
What exactly is dabbing?
Dabbing is when you inhale the fumes from cannabis plant extracts in a concentrated form. The extracts can be derived from any part of the plant, including the stem, leaves, and other leftover material usually put away prior to smoking. The careful process of extracting oil from the plant usually requires propane or butane solvent and is best left to the experts for a safer and more top-quality product. It is not advised that anyone attempt to extract their own oils because injuries could be serious.
What are the most common form of concentrate?
Different extraction methods can produce different types of concentrate. Mechanical separation can produce a product in the form of dry sift or rosin chemical solvents, such as butane will produce “shatter”, “budder”, “sap”, or “crumble” depending on the temperature and pressure that are used during the process. The latter are typically known as butane hash oils or BHOs. They contain higher amounts of THC, and therefore produce stronger hits than a typical smoking session. It’s like drinking whisky or drinking beer. Beer contains lower alcohol content than whisky, which means you don’t have to drink more whisky to get the same effects as a bottle of beer. Similar to whisky, it isn’t necessary to drink very much a concentrate to experience the same effect of smoking a hit. Excessive consumption of a concentrate can cause negative reactions, and it is suggested that the user starts with a smaller amount to understand how the effects of the concentrate impact the user.
What is the best way to dab?
Dabbing needs several tools before getting started. You’ll require the electric dab rig, which is typically comprising the “nail”, a dome, and a mouthpiece. If you already have a water pipe, you may be able to switch on the attachments to create dabbing rigs. (For more details on pipe styles, click here. )The nail is equipped with an end that is cupped to hold the concentrate as it is vaporizing. The dome is designed to catch the vapors before redirecting them through the rig toward the mouthpiece. It is also necessary to have a small cooking torch to heat the nail with.
After you set up your tools in a secure location and decide on the type of concentrate to use, then you will then heat the nail with your torch until it is hot. If the nail’s material is glass or titanium, the excessive heat could cause burning or cracking of the concentrate, which is why it is important not to overheat your device. Quartz is less prone to a tendency to overheat but it does cool down quickly which may keep the entire concentrate from burning. After your nail has become hot, place the concentrate onto the nail using an applicator or other small device.
If your rig includes domes, it is important to set the dome over your nail quickly to ensure vapors don’t escape to the atmosphere. Some electronic nails come with a heat setting, so it’s not necessary to torch them. They will also draw the vapors into the rig, removing the requirement for a dome. Once the vapors get to the mouthpieces, take a deep breath and enjoy. Be sure to let the device cool completely, including the nail and dome before removing it to clean.
